↩️Refunds and Returns Policy

1. Overview

AdaptiveShop is a platform provider that enables independent merchants to create and operate their own online storefronts. AdaptiveShop does not manufacture, sell, fulfill, ship, or handle any products.

All refund, return, and exchange requests must be directed exclusively to the merchant who sold the product.

Each merchant sets, displays, and controls their own refund and return policies. AdaptiveShop does not:

  • Process refunds or returns
  • Mediate fulfillment issues
  • Handle or ship products
  • Resolve disputes between buyers and merchants
  • Guarantee that any merchant will honor their stated policies

AdaptiveShop is not the seller of record for any transaction.

2. Merchant Responsibility

Each merchant using AdaptiveShop is solely responsible for:

  • Setting and posting clear refund and return policies
  • Honoring the policies they publish
  • Processing all return, exchange, and refund requests
  • Issuing refunds through their own Stripe account
  • Managing defective, damaged, incorrect, or missing items
  • Covering return shipping costs (when applicable under their policy)
  • Communicating timelines, conditions, and eligibility
  • Resolving disputes and customer service issues
  • Complying with all consumer protection, ecommerce, and refund laws

AdaptiveShop does not oversee or enforce merchant policies and bears no responsibility for merchant actions or failures.

3. How to Request a Refund or Return

To request a refund or return for a product purchased through a merchant's AdaptiveShop storefront:

  1. Locate the merchant's contact information in your order confirmation email or receipt
  2. Contact the merchant directly with your order number and reason for the request
  3. Follow the merchant's specific return instructions
  4. Provide any required photos, documentation, or evidence
  5. Do not return items until the merchant provides instructions

AdaptiveShop cannot process or authorize refunds or returns on behalf of merchants. All inquiries must be handled by the selling merchant.

4. Refund Processing

Refunds are issued solely by the merchant through the payment processor (Stripe).

Typical refund details:

  • Refund timelines depend on the merchant's stated policy (usually 5–10 business days)
  • Refunds are issued to the original payment method
  • Merchants may issue partial refunds at their discretion
  • Merchants may deduct return shipping costs or restocking fees

AdaptiveShop does not influence or control refund processing times. For any delay or issue, you must contact the merchant directly.

5. Disputes and Chargebacks

If you are unable to resolve an issue with a merchant:

  1. Attempt direct resolution with the merchant
  2. If needed, you may contact AdaptiveShop at [email protected]—AdaptiveShop may assist in facilitating communication but does not make decisions or intervene
  3. If all attempts fail, you may file a chargeback with your payment provider

Important: Chargebacks should only be filed for legitimate disputes such as fraud or failure to deliver.

Filing false, abusive, or fraudulent chargebacks may result in:

  • Account suspension or termination
  • Restrictions on future purchases
  • Possible legal action from the merchant

AdaptiveShop may provide transaction records and evidence to merchants, Stripe, and card networks as part of the dispute process. AdaptiveShop is not liable for the outcome of any chargeback decision.

6. Non-Refundable Items

Certain items may be non-refundable depending on the merchant's policy, including but not limited to:

  • Custom or personalized items
  • Print-on-demand products (unless defective)
  • Digital products or downloadable goods
  • Perishable goods
  • Intimate or sanitary items
  • Final sale or clearance items

Always review the merchant's specific refund policy prior to purchasing.

7. Damaged, Defective, or Incorrect Items

If you receive a damaged, defective, or incorrect item:

  1. Contact the merchant within 48 hours of delivery
  2. Provide photos or documentation
  3. Wait for merchant instructions before returning the item

Most merchants will, at their discretion:

  • Replace the item
  • Issue a full refund
  • Provide a prepaid return label

AdaptiveShop is not responsible for product defects, quality issues, incorrect shipments, or any failure by the merchant to resolve the issue.

8. Lost or Stolen Packages

If your package is marked delivered but missing:

  • Check tracking details
  • Contact the shipping carrier
  • Contact the merchant for possible next steps

AdaptiveShop is not responsible for lost or stolen packages. Liability depends on:

  • The merchant's shipping policy
  • Carrier insurance
  • Merchant decisions

9. AdaptiveShop Subscription Refunds (For Merchants Only)

This section applies only to merchants paying for AdaptiveShop's platform services.

  • Subscription fees are non-refundable, unless required by law
  • You may cancel at any time
  • Canceling does not entitle you to a prorated or partial refund
  • Access continues until the end of the billing cycle

10. Platform Liability Disclaimer

TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW:

  • AdaptiveShop is not liable for merchant refund or return decisions
  • AdaptiveShop is not responsible for merchant failure to honor policies
  • AdaptiveShop does not guarantee refund timelines or outcomes
  • AdaptiveShop is not responsible for product issues, defects, or misrepresentation
  • AdaptiveShop is not responsible for shipping, tracking, or carrier performance
  • AdaptiveShop is not a party to the transaction

Your sole remedy for issues with an order is to seek resolution with the selling merchant or your payment provider.

11. Changes to This Policy

AdaptiveShop may update this Refunds & Returns Policy at any time. Continued use of the Platform after updates constitutes acceptance of the revised policy.
